Setting up your Windows PC  to use the SimplyExpats.net Professional Service

Part 1 – Setting up the SimplyExpats.net Anti Virus Service

1.0 Activate your User Control Panel

Login to the User Control Panel by clicking on the link below:

Login to the SimplyExpats.Net Control Panel

The Login window will be displayed as below.

Login using the Username and Password you received from PayPal.

(Your Username and Password are also recorded in your PayPal Account).

2.0 Confirm your Account Details & Activate your Account

Once you have successfully logged in, the SimplyExpats.Net Account Confirmation window will be displayed.

Press the Confirm Details & Activate your Account button.

Once your account is activated, you will be returned to the main SimplyExpats.Net User Control Panel window.

3.0 Your Account Username and Password

Please note that your Username and Password are generated by PayPal, and will be displayed by PayPal on completion of the subscription process.

You can also find your Username and password in your PayPal account, under Your Subscriptions.

User accounts are usually activated and available for use within five minutes of PayPal creating your new SimplyExpats.net account.

Please also note that because your SimplyExpats.net account is set up automatically, by the PayPal subscriptions system, we do not send new account confirmation emails.

4.0 SimplyExpats.net Anti Virus Proxy Servers and Port Numbers

The address for the SimplyExpats.net proxy servers is currently as follows:

Server Address: uk-av.esixgroup.net

Server Port: 443

5.0 Configure your PC to use the SimplyExpats.net Anti Virus Service

5.1 How to set up Internet Explorer for using the ESIX Anti Virus Service?

Load Internet Explorer

Click “Tools”
Select “Internet Options”;
Select the “Connections” Tab;
Press the “LAN Settings” button in the “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” group box;

Check the  ”use a proxy server” button;

In  the “Address” field enter: uk-av.esixgroup.net

In the Port field, type 443

Check the “Bypass proxy server for local addresses”;

Your settings should look like the screen print below:

Click “OK” to close the connections window;
Click “OK” to close the options window;

Restart Internet Explorer.

If your settings are correct, you will be prompted for your username and password the first time you connect to a website.

Your Username and Password can be found under the Your Subscriptions section in your PayPal account.

Enter your username and password, and click the Remember Settings box.

5.2 How to set up Mozilla Firefox for using the ESIX Anti Virus Service?

1. Open a window of adjustment of the program: Tools -> Options
2. In the opened window choose the Network tab under the Advanced button.
3. Click the Network button and press Settings…
4. Choose radio button Manual Proxy Configuration,Enter uk-av.esixgroup.net for the HTTP Proxy, and 443 for the Port
5. Save settings

6.0 Testing your connection to the Anti Virus Service

You can check that the Anti Virus service is enabled by clicking on the link below:

eicar.com

The test virus should be blocked by our servers and your browser redirected as below.

7.0 Anti Virus Setup Complete – The Next Step

If you only need access to the SimplyExpats.net Anti Virus features of the service and do not require access to our Secure Professional VPN Service, your setup is complete.
