Setting up your Windows PC to use the SimplyExpats.net Home Service

Part 1 – Setting up the SimplyExpats.net Web Proxy Service

1.0 Activate your User Control Panel

If you have already activated your Control Panel Account, you can skip to Section 3 of this document.

Login to the User Control Panel by clicking on the link below:

Login to the SimplyExpats.Net Control Panel

The Login window will be displayed as below.

Login using the Username and Password you received from PayPal.

(Your Username and Password are also recorded in your PayPal Account).

2.0 Confirm your Account Details & Activate your Account

Once you have successfully logged in, the SimplyExpats.Net Account Confirmation window will be displayed.

Press the Confirm Details & Activate your Account button.

Once your account is activated, you will be returned to the main SimplyExpats.Net User Control Panel window.

3.0 Your Account Username and Password

Please note that your Username and Password are generated by PayPal, and will be displayed by PayPal on completion of the subscription process.

You can also find your Username and password in your PayPal account, under Your Subscriptions.

User accounts are usually activated and available for use within five minutes of PayPal creating your new SimplyExpats.net account.

Please also note that because your SimplyExpats.net account is set up automatically, by the PayPal subscriptions system, we do not send new account confirmation emails.

4.0 SimplyExpats.net Anti Virus Proxy Servers and Port Numbers

The address for the SimplyExpats.net proxy servers is currently as follows:

Server Address: uk-proxy.esixgroup.net

Server Port: 443

5.0 Setting up Internet Explorer to use the SimplyExpats.net Home Proxy Service

Load Internet Explorer, and go to Tools -> Internet Options

Click on the Connections Tab, and press the LAN Settings button.

Tick the “Use a proxy server for your LAN” option.

Enter the following details:

Address: uk-proxy.esixgroup.net

Port: 443

Press OK to update your settings.

In the Internet Explorer Address Bar go to www.google.com

You will receive a login dialog box as below:

Enter your Username and Password, and tick the Remember my credentials box.

Username: Your username (This is generated by PayPal see section 3 above).

Password: Your password. (Again, this is generated by PayPal see section 3 above).

Press OK, and then apply the settings.

Internet Explorer is now configured to use the SimplyExpats.net Home Proxy Service.

5.1 Setting up FireFox to use the SimplyExpats.net Home Proxy Service

Load FireFox, and go to Tools -> Options.

Press the Advanced button.

Click on the Network tab.

Press the Connection Settings button.

The Proxy configuration settings window will appear as below:

Press the Manual Proxy Configuration button.

Enter the following details:

HTTP Proxy: uk-proxy.esixgroup.net

Port: 443

SSL Proxy: uk-proxy.esixgroup.net

Port: 443

Press OK to update your settings.

In the FireFox Address Bar go to www.google.com

You will receive a login dialog box as below:

Enter your Username and Password.

Username: Your username (This is generated by PayPal see section 3 above).

Password: Your password. (Again, this is generated by PayPal see section 3 above).

Press OK, and then apply the settings.

FireFox is now configured to use the SimplyExpats.net Home Proxy Service.

The SimplyExpats.net Proxy Setup is now complete.

NOTE: When connecting to the Home VPN Service, you MUST disable the Web Proxy. Your PC will remember the Web Proxy settings, so it can be re-enabled once disconnected from the VPN Service.
